You know I was kind of hoping this whole internet thing was just a fad and we’d go back to stapling band flyers on telephone poles.    Ah, but like Bowie sang in All You Pretty Things, it looks as though it’s here to stay.   And you know what they say, if you can’t beat em………..wait until there’s no witnesses and go back with a gang of your friends…..I mean join them.

I’ve been a musician all my life and probably most people who find me here on this little slice of the inter web probably know me from the biggest thing I was involved in, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, TSO.    I did some really cool shit in a decade of touring with them like sold out arenas all over the country including Madison Square Garden, and jamming with real rock stars like Steven Tyler from Aerosmith and Roger Daltrey from The Who, and partying on tour buses like it was 1999.

But just like 1999…………Y2K got me :)

Come on that’s funny, I don’t care who you are.

Anyone curious what I have been up to for the last few years can watch the video on main page for my song “The Promise Of This City” with a collage of photos a family life.   And back in my day, I also did some really cool shit with my own rock bands like Mama Kettle and Opium For The Masses and American Trash, like touring as the opening act for legends like Bad Company and Lynyrd Skynyrd and Ted Nugent and Tesla.   I lived in NYC forever from back in the 90s and was there and cut my teeth in those now mystical places like CBGBs, and the Loisaida and Wetlands.     I’ve seen some shit.   And before that had the baddest college cover band in that frozen tundra paradise of SUNY Oneonta cause I like Pina Coladas AND getting caught in the rain.

And maybe the upside of the tech and www https://.com is connecting with some of those friends I made along the way.

If you read along this far, you probably gather already from the dated references I ain’t exactly Gen Z.  GET OFF MY LAWN.    But as a dyed in the wool Rolling Stones fan, I got the same response to getting old that they have; the people they emulated like Howlin Wolf and Muddy Waters were old when they started and are still going.

So yeah, kind of soup to nuts on getting bitten by that music bug almost like Peter Brady in the Hawaii special, I can’t quit you babe, I am afflicted and for better or worse a musician who no matter how hard I try I can’t walk away.   I am tapping the beat to another one bites the dust right now on the keyboard as I am typing on.   Every time I think I’m out, they pull me back in.

I am a songwriter and have something to say.…still, and am writing a lot of new songs and collaborating with some very special musicians.   I am a singer with a unique sound, not Pavorotti but neither was Ozzy or Bon RIP.   And while I am a bass player, I would never call myself a guitar player but I am a guy who can hack away at most cowboy chords on the 6 string including the Beatles B7.   I’m also a dad, a husband, and an Operating Engineer, in that order and in Connecticut (and NY!).

One of the advantages of all of these trips around the sun is I have learned to take the good and leave the bad in most situations.   And that is what I am going to do with this website and little foray back into the web fray; almost like one of those places in NY that doesn’t have a sign on the door, you gotta be in the know I ain’t gonna be blowing up your phone.   But I am going to be posting songs I write and record, and may be playing live again….soon.
